Draco was anxious to start his holiday. Ever since meeting the Potters and getting to know the Tonks, breaks from school suddenly seemed worth the effort it took to get home. He could read and study anywhere; it felt brilliant having family and friends to visit when he was home. He secretly hoped Severus would meet him there though he hadn't asked. He planned to visit his parents for a few days first, but he doubted anyone had the time to greet him and he knew it would feel lonely to see all the happy families if he had no one there. Nonetheless, he exited the train with a big smile that was quite unlike the expression he had worn last year. His grin brightened when he spotted a familiar flash of red hair. "Lily?" He called. "Lily?" He tried to push through the crowd. "Excuse me, pardon me," he said as he weaved through.

This ride back to London is taking FOR-EV-ER! Seriously, I've already gone through like ALL of my magazines twice and am starting to run out of things to talk about with everyone! Are we there yet!?? We HAVE to be getting close!

I miss you LIKE crazy already! I wish you would have signed up to go home. This train ride would have been much better with you. We could have gotten our own compartment and spent some fun time together!

I have been seeing some disturbing discussions amongst the Death Eaters. Evidently the Dark Lord's more ardent supporters are planning an attack at the upcoming charity ball, to make an example of those they suspect of disloyalty.
I would assume, since I am seeing these discussions at all, that I am not yet on the list of those suspects. Unless, of course, this is a trap. Their plans are not definitive, as yet -- mostly posturing and saber rattling, at the moment -- but I shall pass along the details, as I learn them.

CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE!!
Lily has the tree up and there are lights and PRESENTS (even though, she MIGHT want to consider NOT ruining the fun and totally removing and possibility of revealing charms on those! A bloke needs the right to investigate, you know).
I am baking cupcakes today! And Christmas shaped cookies - and I don't even care how sassy that sounds because I will have my quaffle with me at all times to cancel the sassy stuff out so...there!
Oh, and did I mention the house is full of LIGHTS?
Lily is sooo not taking the decorations down next year. I wilL have Luce to back me up on this one!

You lot may not think it, but the professors are just as anxious to get out for the hols as you are. Or maybe it's just me. Any cheeky students care to remind me why I assigned so many inches of scrolls? Maybe you'll get some points for effort.
I may abolish papers next term. And not just because I'm a lazy man who can't be bothered to read heaps of scrolls. I have my reasons, thanks very much. It's not my style of teaching and it's not practical for Defense.
No one is going to care a toff about how Red Caps foretell disasters when they're confronted with one.

Les Sylphides opens Saturday night. I don't have a large part in it but still... it's my first real recital. Bill, Liam, I've left tickets for both of you in the kitchen on the counter next to the biscuit tin. And Severus, I sent yours via owl just a few moments ago, so they should arrive shortly! There are two of them, in case you'd like to bring someone. Also enclosed is your book, which I enjoyed immensely. I've got a notebook full of my own observations.
The costumes are absolutely lovely. Now if I could just get this swelling in my ankle to go down... it doesn't even really hurt. It's just annoying!
